Title: Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide Dual In-Person Weekday

The Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aide (NAT/HHA) Dual Certification Program at DIVINE WATCH TRAINING SCHOOL is designed to prepare students for entry-level healthcare positions. This 100-hour comprehensive program includes both theoretical instruction and hands-on clinical training, ensuring that students acquire essential patient care skills.

Our course meets the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s Nurse Aide Registry requirements, and students will be trained in:

  • Personal Care Skills – Bathing, dressing, positioning, and feeding patients
  • Vital Signs Monitoring
  • Professional Responsibilities – Ethical patient care and compassionate communication

Upon completion, graduates will be eligible for dual certification and can take the Massachusetts Nurse Assistant Competency Exam to become a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) and a Certified Home Health Aide (HHA).

Course Requirements

Before enrolling, students must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Hold a valid CPR (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross
  • Possess a U.S. high school diploma/GED or pass the Divine Watch Basic English/Reading Proficiency Exam
  • Undergo a background check (must have no criminal convictions related to abuse, neglect, or mistreatment of patients)

Evaluation & Grading Criteria

Assignment Grade Requirement
NAT/HHA Theory/Lab 80% minimum
Lab/Clinical Pass/Fail (P/F)
  • Students must pass all written exams (quizzes and final exams) with at least 80%.
  • Quizzes may be retaken once; the final exam may be retaken once.
  • If a student fails a quiz or final exam twice, they will be dismissed from the program.

Skills Competency Requirements:

  • All skills listed in the NAT/HHA Student Skills Handbook must be performed with 100% accuracy before attending the clinical setting.
  • Clinical students must demonstrate respect, truthfulness, reliability, and professionalism.

Background Check:

  • The clinical site will conduct a mandatory background check for all students.

Health & Physical Requirements

  • This program involves fast-paced learning and physical activity.
  • If you have conditions such as learning disabilities, pregnancy, chronic conditions, or injuries, you must provide written permission from a physician.
  • Failure to disclose applicable conditions before enrollment may result in non-refundable dismissal.

Dress Code & Uniform Requirements

Students must wear:

  • Olive-green scrubs (top and matching pants/skirt)
  • A watch with a secondhand
  • Closed-toe, closed-heel white athletic or tennis shoes (small accents of color allowed)

Permitted for Religious Necessity

  • Neutral-colored scarves or skirts

Jewelry & Grooming

  • Small earring studs
  • One ring per hand (must have personal significance)
  • Natural makeup
  • Short, uncolored nails (no designs)

Not Permitted

  • Cell phones (must be turned off and put away)
  • Hats or scarves (except for religious reasons)
  • Dangling jewelry
  • Extreme hair colors or loose hair
  • Acrylic nails or overlays
  • Heeled, open-back, or clogged shoes
  • Jackets over uniform attire (Only professional scrub jackets allowed. If cold, students may wear a long-sleeve white, olive green, or black shirt underneath the scrub top.)
  • Obscene or offensive tattoos (Must be covered during clinical sessions.)

Attendance & Participation

  • Students must complete all coursework and demonstrate competency in all required skills.
  • A progress report will be provided once 50% of the course is completed.
